About Derra Camp and Resort
Derra is a camp with a difference located in the Doon Valley at the intersection of the Shavlik ranges and the Himalayas. The natural surroundings, well-furnished air-conditioned En Suite Swiss Tents and a variety of camp site activities ensure that all type of travellers enjoy our hospitality and visit us again.
Generally camps are synonymous to rugged conditions at offbeat locations where individuals spend a night or two before heading to the next location. In contrast, our camp it more than a transit site and is meant for individuals to connect with themselves and rejuvenate their body, mind and soul.
As a result, Derra is a unique site for relaxing the body and invigorating the spirit. While its proximity to the deciduous forest of Dhoolkot provides tranquil surroundings for those seeking a peaceful getaway, jungle trails, writing or just meditating, Derra’s mentoring organization, Search Consultants competence and experience of over two decades in conducting outbound training programs, adventure activities and leadership camps make Derra an ideal location for those seeking an action packed holiday.
We have our captive training locations – both on site and in nearby locations – for activities like rock climbing, treks, white water rafting, para sailing among others. For those backpackers who wish to explore more in and around the valley like Rishikesh, Haridwar, Mussoorie, Ponta etc., we are a stone’s throw from NH 72 (Dehradun-Shimla highway) making it easily accessible by road.
Why We are
Derra was originally conceived as a captive location for the outbound training needs of its mentor organisation, Search Consultants, an ISO 9001:2008 entity with over two decades of experience in outbound training. However, as the camp started taking shape, there was a need felt to increase the scope of Derra and extend it to other organisations and educational institutions as a venue for their training programmes. Derra’s ambit expanded further when it was felt that the location served as an ideal getaway for leisure travellers, a venue for recreational activities or even a bistro for highway commuters. Resultantly, while Derra caters to different needs, the fundamental idea of learning and reflecting amidst nature underpins it.
